A major focus for WBNW is the development of the North Wales Wheelchair Basketball League where each of the local clubs play a round robin of fixtures over four full days in the season. The North Wales League is an ideal opportunity for the next generation of players, coaches and officials to experience matches in a positive, friendly environment and learn more about the rules and everything else that goes with preparing for match days.

The North Wales League also provides an ideal platform for talent identification and player classification so that, if they wish, players, coaches and officials can progress onto the North Wales Knights and compete in British Wheelchair Basketball’s National League structures.

WBNW also use the North Wales League to initiate new development programmes which can help initiate new North Wales Knights teams. In the 2016 NWL an Under 15 development programme was put in place which has resulted in WBNW entering a North Wales Knights U15 team in the 2016/17 National Junior League.
